CONTINUING EDUCATION

There is a critical national need for us to improve health practitioner competency in understanding alcohol use, abuse and dependence. With our continuing scientific discoveries and emphasis on increasing the number of primary care practitioners, there has not been a commensurate increase in alcohol competency or training. The purpose of this site is to provide information and training that will increase the ability of physicians to recognize and treat alcohol problems.

The AEC offers a curriculum of free courses and information related to recognizing and treating alcohol problems. This is a great resource for Medical Professionals and other people who would like to learn more about alcohol abuse. Medical Professionals can also receive certified CME or CEU credits for passing the exams. But everyone can review the course materials at any time including course literature and multimedia presentations.
